The Blogs of Professional PR Associations

The big PR associations have been somewhat slow to take up new media, but I have a collection of blogs, some active and others not so active, that are associated with PRSA or IABC at the national and chapter levels.

Take a look, there is some interesting stuff, and some pretty dry stuff too. If you know of other blogs, please add them to comments section, and they don't have to be a part of the big 2, Women in Communications blogs and others are also welcome.

Maybe once we have a pretty good list we can move it to the NewPR Wiki, which by the way is an excellent resource for those just getting involved with social media. The site includes historical facts and other information that can help you get up-to-speed or just conduct research.

PRSA Blogs
* I have included the month and year of the first and the last post made to the site as of today
I have also started a del.icio.us page to track PRSA Blogs.

IABC Blogs
Constantin Basturea informed me that he has a complete list of PR/Communication association blogs worldwide, of course. Thanks Constantin!

Kami, thank you for linking to our blog, NY IABC Chatter. We're always delighted to be referenced! I'm sorry I'm so late in getting extendeding my gratitude - chalk it up to my own ignorance about tagging, linking and Technorati. Thanks again -

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

San Antonio Mobile Center Open from May 21st thru May 26th

The Road Home program will be opening a Mobile Housing Assistance Center in San Antonio, TX on Monday, May 21st. The center will operate until Saturday, May 26th. There will be an Open House on Monday, May 14th from 6-9 pm at the Norris Conference Centers, located at Crossroads Mall, 4522 Fredericksburg Rd, San Antonio, TX 78201. All Louisiana homeowners are encouraged to come out to meet with the Road Home Staff, tour the facility and schedule appointments to meet with a housing advisor. There will be staff present at the open house to answer questions about the program and to assist homeowners with the completion and/or filing of applications to The Road Home program. For more information visit www.road2LA.org or call 1-888-ROAD-2-LA.

"We are making every effort to reach all eligible homeowners and ensure that they can move through the system as quickly as possible," said Michael Taylor, director of the Disaster Recovery Unit, Office of Community Development. "It’s vitally important that Louisiana homeowners who are living in South West Texas call the program to file their applications and make an appointment at the San Antonio center."

Louisiana residents currently residing in San Antonio or the Southwest Texas area who have applied to the program, but have not yet scheduled their appointments may do so by calling 1.888.ROAD.2.LA and choosing prompt #4. Homeowners who have made appointments at a Louisiana center have the option to reschedule those appointments at the San Antonio location by also calling that number.
